William Helbein, received in July 1944 from the Red Army intelligence in Ottawa, through Hermina Rabinowitch 10.000 US Dollars in consideration of an equivalent sum to be paid out of Berthe's Helbein account with the Swiss Bank Corporation, Geneva to Rachel Dübendorfer.
May or may not have been aware of the use to which the Swiss Francs were to be put (maintenance of the surviving elements of the Red Army intelligence group in Switzerland).

History.

In 1937 or 1938, according to Kriminal Secr. Wilhelm berg, a number of fires occured on ships sailing from Germany to North- and South America and these were attributed by the Germans to consignments from the Swiss branch of the Helbein Watch Company.

Helbein received in 1942 a consignment of watches from rachel Dobrik, Berthe Helbein's sister-in-law in Geneva, which were suspected of containing code messages.
