Instructions for “Bonzo”
General
“Swallow” is participating in Operation “Gunnerside” with Ensign Rönneberg as commander and Ensign K. Haukelid as deputy commander.
After the operation has been completed and they have returned to the “Hide-out,” each of the participants in “Swallow” will decide whether they wish to return to Sweden or move west and south in order later to take up organizational work.
Ensign K. Haukelid will, in that case, remain with “Swallow” until he begins his independent work.
Ensign K. Haukelid shall then work in the “Western Telemark District” independently of “Swallow.” The “Western Telemark District” shall be directed directly by F.O. IV and SOE through WT communications. O. will be informed of this from here.
District Division
Telemark is divided into the following three districts:
Rjukan: Rjukan and the surrounding area shall constitute one district, which for the time being shall remain inactive.
Western Telemark District: The municipalities of Røldal and Vinje shall form the “Western Telemark District,” with the municipal boundaries as district borders. The group is designated “Bonzo.”
Eastern Telemark District: The remaining part of Telemark, excluding Rauland, shall form the “Eastern Telemark District” and be designated “Swallow.”
In the municipality of Rauland no activity shall be carried out. The reason is that there are a number of Nazis there, and the district is not considered to be of great strategic importance.
Equipment and Provisions

The special schedules and standby for this Station will be completed on Saturday, February 20th.
I wish to repeat how grateful I am to all those concerned at Headquarters and at S.T.S. 53 who have had to put in a good deal of work over the past four months in connection with the special standby period which had to be established for the Operation of which SWALLOW was the advance party.
If any success is achieved, some of it at any rate will undoubtedly be due to the work of the Signals Section.

I do not wish to cancel the SWALLOW Crack Signal Skeds for good, since it may be necessary to re-instate them in connection with the carrying out of the GUNNERSIDE operation.
