It is desired to instruct four men of the GROUSE party in S-Phone before the 16th, which is fixed as the first date of their operational period. Could you let me know if it is possible to carry out the traning in London?
Could you please provide spare batteries for S-Phone equipment, which are required for use in the S-Phone originally sent into the field with GROUSE-I in April. It is intended that GROUSE II should take these batteries on the 16th. Could they be delivered to my office by the 15th?

Is the bridge guarded?
Are iron hawsers against aircraft still streched across the valley?
Are Ack-Ack guns mounted on hills round about?
Location of nearest garrison giving approximate strength.
Means of transport available for garrison, buses, cars or walking.
Habits of patrols
Is there any likelyhood of hay-makers, berry-pickers, cattle grazers, cattle grazers wandering in the hills between 5th October and 15th December?
All this intelligence should be mixed up with other requests so as to avoid the impression of concentrating on this area.
This is required by Thursday morning,

Dear Haukelid,
If you think we have left then you are damned wrong. To-day is Sundag and we came here last Monday, A weeks waiting for fine weather which never comes. Otherwise it is alright here, the house is full of F.A,N,Y.s. All are still in good spirits. To-day it is "Yellow Light". What that means you will finf when you come here.
We had a conferennce with Tronstad and Schive. Very little that was positive came out of that.
I haven't anything new to tell you, unless it is that I am appointed 2/Lt. which pleases me a good deal and that Kjelstrup is a Sgt.
The RAF have agreed to drop us without a moon, which is a good thing, but one thing is certain, we shall never come down on Løkhjes Myrane.
I have for the occasion amended an old poem:
Supper we ate in England,
Sleep we missed,
Breakfast we ate on Holy?
So, unexpected, we have this.
12-9-1942 Saturday. There is "RED LIGHT" today and we hope for the best. We are now ready to start.

They who rush through the air,
The heroes from Piccadilly.
Even more than willing
To offer life and limb
For their soldier friends.
But now they have lost their splendour
All have stopped their dance,
Deprssion rules the boys
For they were the Commando's drudges,
But now they can only bluff
Over deeds of a by-gone time.
They got 30,000 for their jobs
An that the lads couldn't stand.

All traffic for GROUSE will be cleared with the highest possible priority in clear to D/YC or his duty officer (a) by scrambler, or (b) by teleprinter.
At every sked a report will be made to D/YC if there is (a) no contact or (b) contact but no traffic. D/YC will immediately transmit all traffic by scrambler to C.C.O. Ext. 310.
D/YC will report to MS immediately when any of the above have been effected.
This refers only to the period 18th November to 26th November inclusive
