Heinz E. Kallmann (A'38) was born on March 10, 1904, at Berlin, Germany. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Goettingen in 1929. From 1929 to 1934, Dr. Kallmann was a research engineer in the laboratories of the C. Lorenz A. G., and from 1934 to 1939 he was an engineer in the Research and Design Department of Electric and Musical Industries,Ltd. In 1940 Dr. Kallmann joined the New York laboratory staff of Scophony Television, Ltd.
