Just before his death (Nov 1944) FRANK had dismissed him and had put JOHAN VAN DEVENTER (see General) in his place, (Soure: BOOT, 23 Jan 1945).

FABIAN. Gilbert-Sadi J.A. KIRSCHEN, aka CAPTAIN KING. Born 6 April 1916 in Brussels, died 26 May 1991. Belgian in command of an SAS team to gather information for Operation Market-Garden, to locate V-2 sites and to organise resistance groups. Dropped in the night of 15/16 September 1944 near Voorthuizen. Mission accomplished and returned 13 March 1945.
