Name: Reider Lieuwes BANGMA.
Action for which commended.
2/Lieut BANGMA was parachuted into the VELUWE area of German occupied Holland on 2nd March 1945. His mission was to act as liaison between the local resistance commander and Special Forces Headquartes in UK and to establish WT communication between them, in order to organise the supply of arms and explosives by air and give instruction in their use.
His clandesiten wireless material feel into enemy hands and BANGMA was thus deprived of direct communication, but he displayed great activity in the organisation of supply operations by air, in instruction in sabotage and weapons and as leader of sundry raiding and sabotage operations, until overrun by allied forces in the latter part of April 1945.
BANGMA successfully carried out his mission under most difficult and dangerous conditions and it is recommended that he be awarded a Certificate of Commendation.
