Tobias reacts (264) on message 163 from London. he states that in case of arrest of members of Delta Centrum or provincial commanders he is still safe. What the know about Tobias is a telephone number, which is a secret number, so it is not registrated. His address is only know to his staff, Louise de Vries, Gerda Meijer and Madeline van Geuns and a few other people like Carels, the secret telephone network expert. Even His WT operators Pieter and Paul do not know this address. Tobias wishes to come out for a few days and awaits London's reaction. Tobias is clearly suffering from stress, he does not sleep enough, because he wants to be awake when the messages from London come in at night an have to be decoded. Madeline van Geuns was able to do this on her own, but Tobias insisted to be present.

Bericht 165 van Londen ontbreekt/Message 165 from London is missing.

Londen (

Tobias informs London (265) about the results of yesterdays bombing of the SD HQ in Amsterdam. The building has been hit twice, but it did not burn. Half of the Adam van Scheltema Square is in ruins however. Tobias will send more details as soon as possible.
On Sunday November 26th 1944, 24 Hawker Typhoons of the RAF attack the SD HQ at the Euterpestreet in Amsterdam. Both Tobias as Col. Henri Koot did ask London repeatedly to do so. During this air attack 92 civilians and 4 SD men were killed. Besides the SD building 30 other houses nearby were hit.

Tobias informs London (266) that his request to come out is more or less a joke, however he like to come out for a few days to talk things over. The bombardment on the SD HQ was a great success, however not that many Germans were killed and according to Tobias the amount of civilians killed was not too high. Tobias thinks that a major razzia in Amsterdam will start Monday. Olly (Barend Olink) should take a drink for Tobias.

London informs Tobias (167) they are glad that the bombing of the SD HQ was successful. Dropping operations are temporarily stopped and they will be resumed when the situation on the ground is normal again. London wants Tobias to stay where he is, unless he is in immediate danger. It is extremely difficult to get through the lines, crossing the rivers in the south. Besides it would take him too long to get back to Amsterdam both over land as by air. London is glad that Tobias is taking security measures in case of a major razzia in Amsterdam. London's message (probably in the missing message number 165) was not a joke, but they have the complete picture now and the message was sent in interest of all. Rotterdam (Bert de Goede?) asks if Tobias will take a message for Frank (Arnold van Bijnen).

Henri Koot informs London (269) about the situation of the waterlevel of the IJsselmeer if the Germans block the locks. First part of report which answers London's message 137. Regional commander North-Holland is giving more details about the situation in Den Oever. One lock near Den Oever where the Germans have sored (?) explosives and they have taken measurements for machinery and made an emergency plan for supply of electricity for the machinery (do not understand this sentence). To riase the water level of the IJsselmeer to 15 to 30 cm above NAP can only be achieved if the locks remain closed. Therefore it will become impossible to operate sluices and draining the surrounding polders. This will flood the polders and it will take a very long time to get them dry again. The German troops in the Wieringermeer Polder consist of 6 officers, 13 NCO's, 223 solders. One 3.5 cm gun one infantry gun, three anti-tank guns (PAK)4.5 cm,  4 heavy machine guns, 24 light machine guns, 26 miscellaneous made machine guns, 13 mortars of 3 and 5 cm, 29 short rifles, 292 long rifles and 79 pistols.

Second part of Henri Koot's message. Message number 270. The strength of the resistance in the Wieringermeer Polder is 50 men, with a reserve of an other 100 men commanded by a regular officer. They are armed with 53 Sten guns, 60 rifles, 10 Bren guns, 5 bazookas and 200 hand grenades'. The German have good positions and strong points of which are 3 on the east side of the harbour of Den Oever. At the bridge of the Ewijcksluis, which forms the western entrance to the Afsluitdijk, is 1 NCO stationed with 92 solders armed with one 4.5 Anti-tank gun (PAK), 4 light machine guns, 2 mortars, 17 short rifles, 4 machine pistols and 4 pistols. The resistance forces will try to occupy the bridge and block it so that ships can not get through and also to prevent the German garrison of Den Helder to intervene. On other roads leading to Den Oever the bridges will be blocked by the resistance while meanwhile ambushes will be laid.
These two message were sent by Pieter de Vos via radio plan Plym. Both of them are far too long and thus Pieter must have been on the air for quite a while. Just split both messages up into 5 letter groups and use a morse speed of 20 words (1 word is 5 letters).

London informs Henri Koot (168) that they can not do what Koot suggested to interrupt the Germans from moving captured men from a razzias. they come up with several reasons: The weather can prevent the RAF from flying, time delay being asking for RAF action and when the RAF can hit the target, The RAF has other commitments too at that time and danger for the civilian population. London can not think of an effective way to help, but if Koot finds other solutions London is willing to take it into consideration.

Henri Koot (

Verder laat Londen weten (
